KEY INFORMATION 

BUILD AND DE-RIG

The main concert arena preparations will begin on Friday 6th June and all work will be finished by Thursday 3rd July.

The site working times are 08:00 - 20:00.

Please note there will be load out activity and essential site maintenance throughout the night and directly after each event. This includes site activity, stage activity and litter picking. All crew are briefed to keep the noise to a minimum.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions are working with Design TM to deliver the traffic management for the concert series.

On concert days, to provide a sterile area for the concert series there will be road closures in place on Commercial Road, Above Bar Street, West Marlands Road, Gibbs Road and Park Walk.

This is to allow for a safe area for the audience to access and exit the event. The road closure locations and timings can be found on the road closure map.

WHY ARE THE CONTRACTORS ON SITE SO MANY DAYS BEFORE AND AFTER THE EVENT?

Due to the scale of the event, it is necessary to have an appropriate amount of time and days to build the concert arena and facilities to accommodate the audience safely.

WILL THERE BE FIREWORKS?

There will be no fireworks during the shows, however, please note that stage pyrotechnic effects may be in use on some shows that will emit no noise.

WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL SECURITY AT THE EVENT?

Yes, TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions contracts an external security company for additional security presence during the concerts.

WILL THE GUILDHALL SQUARE BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?

Throughout the build, non-show days and de-rig of the summer concert series, certain sections of the Guildhall Square will be temporarily inaccessible. However, access to the businesses and university buildings will be available.

The Guildhall Square will close at 08:00 AM on show days to allow for the concert preparations to begin safely.
